When you look at this photo of me at two months you can understand why Mum chose me, can't you?
(You can, can't you?)
But first of all I had to show off how friendly I was by letting the kids in my Amish family chase after me and sit on me without my snapping at them or anything.
I said a quick 'Hi!' to Mum and ran off again to play. She then paid for me and put a harness on me, which felt a bit funny. But she put me on some really soft towels in a pet carrier which she left open and placed on the front seat of her blue Expedition.
The weather was sunny when we set off from Pennsylvania for my new Maryland home, but then it started to snow.
I got bored just sitting still, so I tried to get out of my carrier. Mum put her hand on me and said 'No!' Since I had no idea what she meant I kept trying to get out.
Eventually she decided that I needed a bathroom break. She stopped the car, put a leash on me and carried me over to a big piece of grass. She told me what a good boy I was because I toddled along next to her even though I'd never been on a leash before, and did my business straight away.
I think Mum thought I'd be quiet after we got back in the Expedition. But I was still bored. She told Dad afterwards that we nearly had four accidents on the three hour journey back because I was so lively and she kept having to take her eyes off the road.
Then I met Tuffy, my new big brother. Boy, that was fun! Another dog to plague - I mean, play with.
I also discovered a new thing: television! I'd never seen one before. I sat down and stared at it for the longest time. Lots of noise and action coming from one box. Boy, this house was going to be the best adventure!
Mum got really worried that first night. I went on the bed with Dad and her and Tuffy, but it was all so exciting that I couldn't settle. I heard Mum say "Oh, no! Does this dog ever sleep?"
I guess I understand what she meant. I'd been bouncing around ever since she came to fetch me.
But it was such fun coming to a new home and meeting a dog just like me only bigger and being allowed on the bed with my new family! Why waste time sleeping?
So I'm going to close my first blog with a photo to prove that I DID go to sleep.
Eventually.
Talk to you soon!
