Have you ever noticed how cute English Bulldog butts are?
Mom is always telling me how adorable mine is, but adds: “Do I have to scratch it all the time?”
She does say that I at least put my face towards her first, and love having my ears rubbed and my jowls lightly pulled on as well. I take that as an invitation to open my mouth and see if I can get her fingers.
She’s not so keen on that idea. I can’t imagine why: I think it’s fun.
Then along comes Tuffy, who’s really into having his rear end rubbed. He especially likes having the folds of his tail vigorously scratched. He and I both lick our noses when Mom does that for us.
Tuffy's tail is an 'outie'
On one of the walks in Chesapeake Beach Tuffy and I met a lady who just loved us. When she petted us, Tuffy turned his butt towards her. She understood. “I used to have English Bulldogs, and I know they love to have their rears scratched.”
Dad told the lady how lucky she was that Tuffy even said ‘hello’ to her. I’m the friendly one – Tuffy is scared of new people and things and gets behind Dad for safety.
Dad says Tuffy’s like that because he’s better bred and very ‘discerning,’ whatever that means.
Mom says that Tuffy was put in a back shed when he was a puppy and not part of a family of kids like me. I used to love having the Amish children run around and chase me. Plus, Mom says, I’m much better bred!!!
I feel bad for Tuffy. People are great and he’s missing out on so much fun!
Anyway, back to bulldog butts.
I think my tail is an 'outie' too.
Mom says she’d love to make a coffee table book filled with photos of bulldog butts.
She’s promised that my butt will be on the front cover – and, of course, featured regularly throughout the book. I’m sure that is to remind readers of the difference between a beautiful bulldog rear end, and the lesser versions, like Tuffy’s.
I think people would really enjoy looking at Bulldog butts while they sip on their coffee and munch on coffee cake.
